The Burke Lab studies the genetic basis of adaptation using laboratory evolution experiments.  

 

Our primary study organism is the brewer's yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Dr. Matt Powers joins the lab!
September 2025
Matt was formerly a postdoc in IB and is bringing his bioinformatics skills to the Burke Lab as a Research Associate.  Welcome Matt!
 
Katie graduates!
June 2025
Katie McHugh defended her PhD and has transitioned to a postdoctoral position at the University of Montana.  Congratulations Dr. McHugh!  We will miss you.
 
Brysyn gets a NASA fellowship! June 2025
PhD student Brysyn Goodson was awarded a graduate fellowship from the Oregon NASA Space Grant Consortium.  Congratulations Brysyn!
